Morales, who is also the also PCC secretary of Organization and Cadres Policy, tweeted that on the 46th anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day, Cuba demands an end to Israel’s expansionist and colonizing policies.
For its part, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) recalled that 46 years ago today the Palestinian people called for their first general strike to demand their rights.
In the framework of the important celebration, the ICAP’s Website, Siempre con Cuba (Always with Cuba), noted that during the protest, the systematic theft of the Arab State’s lands by Israel in 1976 was also condemned.
After expressing in a tweet that Cuba knows very well what it is to feel attacked by a foreign power, the ICAP added that “today together with our Palestinian brothers we say that #AquiNoSeRindeNadie (No One Surrenders) and that against imperialism, whether Zionist or American, #VamosConTodo”(Let’s Go with All).
Israeli troops occupied Palestinian East Jerusalem during the 1967 war, and have since refused to withdraw despite United States Security Council resolutions.
In fact, in 1980, Israeli authorities declared the entire city as the eternal and indivisible capital of the country, a position rejected by the international community, which considers the eastern zone as part of the future Palestinian State.
