In his message, the minister said that the island supports the claim of this Arab people for the establishment of their State in the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of refugees.

In various international forums Havana has denounced the indiscriminate bombings against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, which have caused countless deaths and the destruction of infrastructure and extensive material damage.

During an interactive conversation on the report of the High Commissioner on the Occupied Palestinian Territories at the Human Rights Council, Cuba pointed out that the violations of the rights of the Palestinian people continue to worsen as a result of the lack of report by the occupying power.

In that forum, the Caribbean nation reiterated its unrestricted support for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause on the basis of the creation of two States, which has been historically supported by the United Nations. Forty-six years ago, on March 30, the Palestinian people called their first general strike to demand their rights and against the systematic theft of their land by Israel in 1976.

At present, Israel continues to expand its illegal settlements throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories, using all types of military and civilian infrastructure, in blatant violation of the relevant UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions.
