According to Szijjarto, Ukrainian authorities discussed the issue of the elections in his country with representatives of the Hungarian political opposition, local media reported.
In addition, a few days ago, it became known that the Ukrainian foreign minister consulted with his nation’s ambassador in Budapest about the possibility of influencing the results of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, Szijjjarto said.
In Szijjjarto’s view, if leftist parties come to power in Hungary, they will immediately start supplying Ukraine with weapons and vote for sanctions on oil and gas supplies to Europe from Russia.
The minister stated that Viktor Orban’s government opposes such measures, as they will endanger the country’s security and cause irreparable damage to the national economy.
We have decided not to transport armaments to Ukraine for the safety of the Hungarian people and we will not vote for sanctions that threaten the security of energy delivery, Szijjarto reminded.
The head of Hungarian diplomacy stressed that his country wants to stay out of the conflict in Ukraine.
