According to British Chancellor Liz Truss in a statement, among the 14 sanctioned are Sergey Brilev, presenter of the Russian TV channel Rossiya, Gazprom’s head of communications, Alekzandr Zharoy, and the directors of TV-Novosti and Rossiya Segodnya, in charge of the Russia Today (RT) channel and the Sputnik news agency, respectively.

The UK communications regulator had already withdrawn RT’s broadcasting license weeks earlier.

The United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union and the rest of the NATO allies accuse Putin of invading the neighboring country, and implemented economic and financial sanctions against entities, businessmen and organizations considered close to the Kremlin.

In the case of London, more than a thousand personalities and companies have been sanctioned, among them the owner of the English soccer team Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, and other Russian multimillionaires with businesses in British territory.
