The Ministry of Health indicated that the number of people who have lost their lives to Covid-19 since March 2020 rose to 323,016, and detailed that 62% of the deceased were men and the median age was 64 years old.
In addition, the total number of coronavirus infections in two years now stands at 5,659,535 people. Current active cases total 9,420 and the epidemiological curve continues with a 36% decrease, the agency reported.
National hospital occupancy in general beds remained at 6,0% and in intensive care beds it dropped to 3,0%. The number of patients who recovered from the infection is 4,957,809.
Regarding vaccination, the technical report states that 79,752,864 people are currently fully vaccinated and 5,850,268 have received a new vaccination schedule in the last few days.
It indicates that, out of a total of 98,378,523 people over 14 years of age living in the country, 87%, that is, 85,603,132 citizens, have been vaccinated with at least one dose.
With regard to those over 18 years of age, 90% were immunized, equivalent to 80,780,209 compatriots, and 54% of young people between 14 and 17 years of age, out of a total of 8, 894,016, have also been injected with at least one dose.
Booster doses for people aged 60 years and over have been applied to 9,822,787, and for those aged 40 to 59 years, another 13,596,217.
