China boosts with 20,000 doctors fight against Covid-19 in Shanghai

Beijing, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) China has mobilized more than 20,000 civilian and military doctors in Shanghai to support the containment of the Covid-19 outbreak, which recorded 9,006 cases of 13,267 contagions reported nationwide on Monday.

The doctors come from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei provinces and Tianjin municipality, as well as different commands of the People’s Liberation Army.

In addition to assisting patients, among their tasks is to support PCR and antigen tests that Shanghai has been carried out to its 25 million inhabitants between Sunday and Monday.

Along with the health personnel, the Government sent military ships to transport sanitary and emergency products to the metropolis.

The epidemiological situation in Shanghai is becoming increasingly complex due to the high number of asymptomatic contagions with the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and forced the imposition of an all-territory lockdown last week.

According to statistics, the current Covid-19 wave has already recorded more than 60,000 case and the contagions continue with an upward trend.
