The Joven Cuba and Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil (DRE) terrorist groups claimed responsibility for planting the bomb.
According to historical documents, the attack was perpetrated by Juan Felipe de la Cruz, who died at a hotel in Paris, France, months later when a bomb he was preparing to blow the Cuban Embassy in that city exploded.
Cuba’s foreign service has a total of 11 martyrs, who were violently killed by terrorist groups in different parts of the world.
