Venezuela reinforces security against possible attacks from Colombia

Colombia-Venezuela-frontera-300x200
Caracas, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan government has reinforced all the country's strategic facilities after the complaint made by President Nicolas Maduro about possible attacks from Colombia.

Domingo Hernandez, Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces tweeted reporting that the security forces intensified defense and sabotage prevention actions in the face of new terrorist threats from Colombia.

Hernandez announced that new contingents were enlisted to increase patrol work on the cross-border axis and maintain the national territory free and sovereign.

Last Saturday, Maduro denounced that his Colombian counterpart plans to carry out attacks and sabotage aimed at destabilizing Venezuela before leaving the government.

According to a communiqué from the presidential press, Maduro assured that he received direct reports about a meeting held in Bogota between Duque and extremist sectors to draw up destabilization strategies against Venezuela before Duque leaves the presidency.

Maduro said that according to the information received, the target of attack would be the National Electric System, as well as the drinking water service, and instructed the security forces, the People’s Power and the working class to remain alert and protect the operation of public services.

He also pointed out that hostiles intend to carry out a sabotage to stop the process of recovery and economic growth of Venezuela, “so that no one dares to continue with their little wars against the currency and trade. We are advancing at a good pace in the economic recovery and it will continue like this”.
