Our compass is anti-imperialism, support for the sovereignty of countries and popular causes and governments, hence the accompaniment of Cuba, the Chilean resident in Belgium Miguel Peña, who coordinates the movement that brings together groups of Chileans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, Cubans and Bolivians, told Prensa Latina.
We also work in the analysis and political debate with Latin American communities in Brussels, in order to inform about the reality of the situations, manipulated and distorted by the mainstream media, as is the case with Cuba, stressed the member of the Chilean Constituent Assembly.
For his part, his compatriot, Simon Ortega, highlighted the Coordinating Committee’s commitment to internationalism and solidarity, principles that he described as a historic necessity, that of supporting the peoples who are freeing themselves from the US empire.
We assume the commitment to support the Cuban Revolution as a beacon that illuminates and an example in the awareness of those who aspire to a different world, in which the systems that govern society and the economy change, said Ortega, who is a member of the Chilean Cultural Center.
The Chilean activists shared with Prensa Latina experiences of their activities in support of Cuba, such as demonstrations in the European Parliament in the face of attempts to promote hostile positions against the Caribbean island.
