This measure belongs to a bygone era, the Nigerien association said in a statement, while recalling that the US blockade was established to cause hunger, illness and despair in the Cuban people.

Likewise, the association made clear that tightening the hostile sanction amid damage caused by global health situation (Covid-19), “brings to light its barbaric and unfair essence”.

In the statement, the association recalled that March 12 marked the 26th anniversary of the approval of the Helms-Burton Act, which codified the economic, commercial and financial US blockade imposed on Cuba.
