More Cubans vaccinated with booster shot

Havana, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Wednesday reported that 6,348,041 people have received a booster shot against Covid-19.

According to MINSAP, 9,918,063 Cubans, who make up 89.5 percent of the population, have been fully vaccinated. So far, 10,638,191 citizens have received a dose of homegrown vaccines; 9,393,592 have been administered the second shot; and 9,077,179 have received the third one.

Cuba has administered 35,457,646 doses of domestic vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.

Cuban vaccines are safe and do not have serious adverse effect, according to sucessful clinical trials and the vaccination of several population segments.

According to Cuba’s National Statistics and Information Office, in late 2020, the Cuban population was made up of some 11,180,000 inhabitants.
