“The Ruben Dario National Theater, as a cultural institution of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity, together with the great artistic family, regrets the sensitive death,” a statement said.
The cultural center noted that Palma was the leader of Los Rockets, a band that made him one of the musical pioneers in the 1960’s in Nicaragua.
A guitarist, pianist, arranger and orchestra conductor, Palma is considered a genius of the national pentagram, as he humbly dedicated his successful musical career to the Nicaraguan people.
When he was a child, the artist learned to play acoustic and electric guitar and his passion for music allowed him to meet the outstanding Nicaraguan composer Adan Torres.
Ricardo Palma, who was also a member of the musical group Llama Viva, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76.
