At a press conference, the head of that body, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, called the actions an “inhuman and horrible crime of the Kiev regime”.

Last Monday, the Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, expressed his country’s rejection of any accusation of murder of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha and also proposed to examine the issue in the United Nations Security Council.

Mizintsev, for his part, pointed out that “the cynical provocation of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis” involving the mass killing of civilians in Bucha, carried out with the full support of the Ukrainian authorities, constitutes further proof of genocide against their own people.

The military high command warned that the Russian Defense Ministry has “an evidence base” demonstrating the planning of another crime, similar to the one in Bucha.

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the killings of civilians in Bucha were a provocation aimed at putting an end to negotiations between Kiev and Moscow and refuted the responsibility of Russian troops in the events.

According to media reports, the UN General Assembly is scheduled to vote on Thursday on the possible suspension of Russia from the organization’s Human Rights Council in connection with the military operation in Ukraine.
