The US forces acknowledged the US base located in the al-Omar oil field, in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor, was attacked Thursday with missiles, which injured two soldiers, according to the media.
This base, which had been attacked several times, is considered one of the largest US bases in this country, where it trains separatist and extremist opposition groups.
The United States has almost a dozen illegal bases in the oil and gas fields, without the consent of the country’s legitimate authorities.
The Syrian government has repeatedly denounced this unauthorized presence, which it described as an occupation, and claimed that Washington’s actions encourage terrorist activity.
Several times, local tribes and clans have strongly condemned the presence of foreign forces without official permission in Syria and called for popular resistance, including armed resistance, against the foreign occupants.
