According to information provided to the press by Yaile Caballero Mota, director of the Department of International Relations of the university created by the Cuban Revolution in 1967, some about 164 agreements, including more than thirty with counterparts in the first world, with countries such as Spain, Mexico and Canada, are currently under way.
The insertion of 18 professors in various academic networks stands out and exemplifies the quality of the academics of the institution, integrated to the Ibero-American University Association of Postgraduate Studies (AUIP), which has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and whose objective is the promotion and development of postgraduate and doctorate courses in Ibero-America.
Precisely within the AUIP, the Strengthening Internationalization Project (Forint) between European and Latin American institutions stands out, which has allowed the University of Camagüey to make progress in the increase and signing of agreements with universities in different parts of the world, towards its internationalization.
On the way to achieving the category of Excellence, the University of Camagüey also supports foreign projects, among which is a collaboration program with the Hebei Artificial Intelligence Institute, in China, as well as the VLIR program with the University of Gent, in Belgium.
In the last five years, the International Scientific and Technological Convention has also allowed UC to exchange with foreign specialists, sign other agreements and hold rounds of negotiations to promote the research potential of the University of Camagüey.
