Mekonnen confirmed the government’s position, sustained since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took office in April 2018, at a meeting with representatives of the Ethiopian mission in Europe and Canada, and leaders of the diaspora, the press release added.

During the meeting, held on Wednesday evening via a video-conference, he “outlined some of the main problems of the national current affairs and highlighted the multifaceted efforts by migrants to defend all the interests of their country,” mainly through the #NoMore movement.

#NoMore, a campaign created by a number of Ethiopian and Eritrean activists, has the main objective of opposing disinformation campaigns, economic warfare, diplomatic propaganda and military interventions in Africa, particularly in the so-called African Horn.
