Cuba reports 619 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported 619 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, which represents a decrease of 35 with respect to the previous day, and no deaths.

The number of patients admitted is 7,074, 4,198 whom are suspected cases, 31 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,845 are confirmed contagions, according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).

Of the total number of contagions on Thursday, 601 were contacts of confirmed cases, five had a source of infection abroad and in 13 patients the origin of contagion could not be determined.

Medical authorities discharged 607 patients, so 1,084,024 Cubans (98.9 percent of all confirmed cases), have recovered.

Some 2,845 patients are isolated in hospitals or at home, 2,822 have a stable clinical evolution, while 23 are being treated in intensive care units: seven are critical and 16 are seriously ill.

Cuba has accumulated 1,095,625 Covid-19 cases since March 11, 2020, and the death toll as a consequence of the pandemic remains at 8,517.
