Bolivia, Jeanine Aez, juicio, golpe, estado
La Paz, Apr 8 (Prensa Latina) Former Bolivian President Jeanine Añez, who came to office after a coup, will testify at the Miraflores women's prison, as the Coup d'État II case in which she appears as a defendant has been reinstated.

Añez was charged with allegedly committing the crimes of breach of duties and resolutions contrary to the Constitution.

The alleged actions taken by Añez, who was the second vice president of the Upper House at the time of the coup, to assume power in 2019 first and later the presidency of the republic in an unconstitutional manner, are being investigated.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, more than 70 pieces of evidence and nearly twenty testimonies from witnesses show that Añez, currently in preventive custody in Miraflores, adapted her conduct to these criminal classifications.

According to the Penal Code, Añez could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
