“We have to turn what we have already signed into action,” said Dr. José Ángel Portal, Public Health Minister, in a meeting attended by MINSAP´s senior officials as well as provincial directors, rectors and deans of different Universities of Medical Sciences.

There are not only foreign students at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM, in Spanish), but across the country, that´s why it is time to look to the future, in view of MINSAP´s capabilities, Dr. Portal stated.

Cuba is focused on strengthening relations between bodies and entities, Víctor Gaute, ICAP Vice President said, while availing himself of this opportunity to express how proud Cubans feel for health personnel and professionals´ efforts during the 2-year Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Gaute praised the National Health System´s support for the development of homegrown vaccine candidates in order to immunize nationwide.

Friendship, solidarity, peace and the sovereignty of the peoples are ICAP´s major axes, Mr. Gaute said, while explaining these elements are also part, to some extent, of MINSAP´s achievements.
