The number of patients admitted totaled 6,889, 4,067 of whom were suspected cases, 52 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,770 were confirmed active cases (300 more than on the previous day), according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
Of the total number of contagions on Saturday, 578 were contacts of confirmed cases, five had a source of infection abroad and in 20 cases it was not possible to determine the source of contagion.
Authorities discharged 584 patients, so the total number of recovered cases reached 1,085,490 (99 percent of all confirmed cases).
There are 2,770 patients in hospitals, 2,737 with a stable clinical evolution, while 33 are being treated in intensive care units: eight are critical and 25 are seriously ill.
Cuba has accumulated 1,096,837 Covid-19 cases since the first cases were detected more than two years ago in the country, and the death toll rose to 8,504.
Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.78 percent, much lower than 1.25 in the world and 1.79 in the Americas, according to a comparison of the data provided by Minsap.
