On his Twitter account, the president recalled that the actions against the institutionality was a terrible crime by the oligarchic right wing, defeated by the action of the masses, “20 years of determination and courage. Our destiny is to continue winning!”
Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia recalled the anniversary and pointed out that that April 11, 2002, undoubtedly marked the social rebirth of Venezuela, determining a new geopolitical panorama, where the people assumed a leading role in the defense of sovereignty and support for the Bolivarian Revolution.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino tweeted, “20 years ago, the world witnessed the viciousness of this subversive faction, its anti-democratic character and its baseness. Two decades ago, boastfully supported by imperialism, they could not. Today we tell them they will NEVER BE ABLE TO! Long live the BOLIVARIAN REVOLUTION!
Minister of Communication and Information Freddy Ñañez highlighted the resistance of the Venezuelan people after 20 years of aggression and attacks, during which, he assured, they knew how to reinvent themselves and carry on with the struggle.
For three days the people remained in the streets to confront the coup plotters and in barely 48 hours, the mobilizing action of the masses, together with revolutionary leaders and loyal military men, managed to return the head of State to the Miraflores Palace (the headquarters of the Government) and resume the institutionality of the country.
