In his Twitter account, the president described as “friendly” the exchange in which also participated Tran Thanh Tu, president of the Vietnamese company Thai Binh, which has business operating in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM).

The Head of State considered as “good” the possibilities of continuing to develop economic ties between the two nations, with ties that date back to December 2, 1960, when Cuba became the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam.

A clear expression of these relations was the visit of President Xuan Phuc to Cuba in September 2021, in the context of which several agreements were signed, including the action plan for the implementation of a medium-term bilateral economic agenda for 2021-2025.

Based on the island for more than 20 years, the Thai Binh company started its operations in the ZEDM in November 2019 with a factory of disposable diapers and sanitary pads (daily protectors).

In June 2021, it decided to invest in a wet wipes line and is currently installing a new one for disposable baby diapers, staple products with great acceptance by the population.
