On Havana’s Galiano Street (also known as Italia Avenue), the initiatives will recall the work of the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disasters and Serious Epidemics in Italian cities and the 150th anniversary of that popular street.

Organized by Empresa de Ediciones y Grabaciones (EGREM), the Provincial Government of Havana’s People’s Power Assembly and the Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba, the event will also feature Italian musicians like pianist Giovanni Casella.

According to Michele Curto, president of that solidarity association, during the day the artists will hug the doctors and explain to them the Italian people’s moral debt for assisting them in fighting this serious epidemiological crisis, which broke out in 2020.
