With today´s cases, the country now has 10,272,964 infected with the disease, the twelfth highest number in the world and the third in Asia after India and South Korea.

In the capital, infections are also on the decline: from the peak of 32,650 reached on March 8, this Monday there were only 2,011, that is, 18 times less.

The death toll is also declining in the country: from 283 reported on December 15, 2021, today only 28 deaths have been reported.

Vietnam, is making progress in its efforts to achieve herd immunity through vaccination. Almost 86 million of its 98 million inhabitants have completed the two-dose immunization schedule and 55% have completed a third booster dose.

As the days go by, the experts’ opinion that Covid-19 should already be declared endemic is reinforced because the number of hospitalizations, severe cases and deaths is low compared to the worst moments of the pandemic.
