According to the Caribbean nation’s entity in its official profile on the social network Facebook, the dialogue became an opportunity to talk about the possibilities of deepening exchanges in various spheres and disseminate the plurality of creative expressions of each people.

During the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, Alonso thanked the permanent support of the people and government of the Asian nation to the island’s struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

They also agreed on the importance of sustaining collaboration in the area of the development of cultural and creative industries, which in recent years has become an essential element of bilateral relations. In this sense, the diplomat and Alonso agreed to maintain this type of meetings, with the firm purpose of strengthening bilateral relations in the field of culture.

The meeting took place in the year of the 175th anniversary of the presence of China in the Caribbean island, an event that carries with it an extensive program of celebrations, which includes the commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Association of Friendship of the Chinese People with Latin America and the Caribbean.
