Cuba reported 449 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Havana, Apr 14 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported today 449 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, which represents an increase of 10 with respect to the previous day and no deaths.

The number of patients admitted is 6,018, of which 3,902 are suspected, 54 are under surveillance and 2,062 are confirmed active, according to the daily report released by the Public Health Ministry (Minsap).

Of the total number of infections at the end of last Wednesday, 440 were contacts of confirmed cases, six with source of infection abroad and in three the origin of the infection could not be determined.

Authorities granted 571 medical discharges for those who suffered from Covid-19 and with this, the recovery of nationals reached 1,087,923 (99 percent of all confirmed cases).

Hospitals have admitted 2,062 patients, 2,32 with a stable clinical evolution, while 30 are being treated in intensive care units: 10 critical and 20 serious.

The province with the highest incidence during the day with more than 100 was the central province of Camagüey (111).

Cuba accumulates 1,098,563 diagnosed with the pathogen since March 11, 2020 and the total number of fatalities as a consequence of the pandemic reached 8 million 519.
