Recently, the Special Electoral Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the successful completion of consultations about the legislative bill with embassy personnel and Cubans in other missions abroad.
A total of 26,740 voters participated in the process and 13,191 proposals were received, out of more than 14,000 interventions.
In order to gather the criteria, a section was also set up in the Nation and Emigration website, according to Ernesto Soberon, general director of Consular Affairs and Cubans Living Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to the beginning of the consultation, the official explained that the number of times to access the site and express their criteria would not be limited, nor would people’s migratory status be taken into account.
