Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Spokesman Nneka Ikem Anibize noted that displacements occurred after groups of gunmen attacked five villages in that territory, leaving more than 100 dead, 70 missing people and burnt houses.
The government representative noted that the attacks were perpetrated by criminal gangs, which collaborate closely with Islamic extremist groups, and added that among the towns most affected by violence in Plateau are Kyaram and Gyambau.
