Media connected to the Polisario independence movement reported an air strike on Sunday that hit a convoy close to the Mauritanian border with Western Sahara.

The air strike on civilian convoy was premeditated crime, Algerian statement said.

This is the second time that Moroccan forces have attacked unarmed civilians in the same area in recent months.

Algeria in late August 2021 broke off diplomatic ties with Morocco over hostile acts by its neighbor.
