In order for the initiative, presented by the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to be approved and implemented, a two-thirds majority of the legislators present in the plenary session is required.

However, the governmental coalition formed by the Morena, Labor and Green parties, does not reach that number and will require the adhesion of 50 deputies from the National Action (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), Democratic Revolutionary (PRD) and Citizen Movement (MC).

Their leaders declared that they will vote as a block against the reform and the government accuses them of being traitors to the country because in this way they align themselves with the foreign companies headed by the Spanish Iberdrola and a group of US companies.

Since the middle of the week, its main leaders set up a publicity campaign according to which the government coalition was preparing a blockade at the entrance to the Chamber in order to prevent the totality of its deputies from voting and, due to their absence, to achieve a majority in the vote.

That is why yesterday, they carried out the previously announced show that they would sleep in their offices in the Chamber, for which they made large purchases of bed linen, pajamas, pillows and other items, and last night they prepared a collective barbecue in the inner courtyards of the facility.
