Both countries, he recalled, immediately established mutual diplomatic ties after the island´s revolutionary triumph in 1959.
He also highlighted that the Cuban Revolutions leader, Fidel Castro was a great friend of India.
This great friendship constitutes a huge opportunity despite of the geographical distance, Iqbal said before stressing the intention to send this week a trade delegation led by IETO to Havana.
Another delegation of Indian businessmen plans to visit Cuba in the coming months, with an eye on the biopharmaceutical sector.
