The MPLA is working hard to reach its target of five deputies to Parliament for the Cabinda constituency (northern province), the first secretary of the party’s committee in the territory, Marcos Nhunga, expressed, the digital edition of the Jornal de Angola newspaper reported today.
During the current pre-campaign period it is essential that the militants effectively and responsibly convey the message of the organization’s leader, as well as the Movement’s electoral program for the five-year period 2022-2027, he said.
At the same time, he indicated, they must channel debates through social networks in order to counteract the disinformation and slander campaigns promoted by “political detractors”.
Nhunga urged the militancy to play a leading role in mobilizing citizens in workplaces and schools to counteract behaviors encouraged with the intention, he said, of undermining voter confidence.
“We must continue to moralize society, combating rumors, tribalism, regionalism and other forms of discrimination, behaviors that undermine the confidence of our voters,” he said.
