“On April 19, 2022, we commemorate the 61st anniversary of the great defeat over Yankee imperialism in the Americas,” Acure said in a statement. The Association stressed that only 72 hours were enough to prove to the Government of the United States the people’s conviction about the path chosen and undertaken after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.
“Playa Giron is the proof of the bravery of our people, who are clear about defending sovereignty and independence at whatever price it takes,” the text stressed.
Likewise, it pointed out that this event changed Cuba’s history and the socialist nature of the Revolution underway was proclaimed after the victory.
“Giron showed the peoples of the Americas that the empire could be defeated, that the weapons to destroy them were in the dignity of the people who resist to be subdued,” the Acure assured.
In this regard, it added that to date successive US administrations have not ceased in their attempts to destroy everything built by the Cuban Government and citizens.
The Association emphasized that the current strategy is unconventional wars on social networks, fake news and media lynching, as well as the encouragement of disorderly and illegal emigration to give the image of a failed system.
