Within the framework of the Istanbul negotiations, Ukraine handed over its proposals to its opponents to solve security guarantees, Mikhail Podolyak, head of the President’s Office, said.
Russia studied the proposals and expressed its counter-proposals, and now it is time to study, compare, draw conclusions, including those of a political and legal nature, the official added.
The spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskov, added at a briefing in Moscow that Ukraine has received a draft agreement with a clear language.
At this moment, our draft document was handed over to Ukraine, and includes elaborated and absolutely clear formulations. The ball is on their court, we are waiting for a response, Peskov stated.
He reiterated that the dynamics of negotiations leaves a lot to be desired due to Kiev’s position and that the Ukrainians do not show much inclination to intensify the negotiation process.
Peskov recalled Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words that Ukraine is constantly deviating from previously confirmed agreements, from his words, constantly changing them, adding that it had a negative effect.
