Organized by the subsidiary of the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (Citma) and with the leading role in addition to different artists, the space that has the protection of the planet where we live as a premise, will run until next Friday with the intention of promoting innovation, in an interrelation to benefit nature.
Every year in the world hundreds of species disappear due to deforestation, fires, pollution, poaching, global warming and climate change, sufficient reason to promote this type of initiative, and carry a message about the need to protect each ecosystem.
“If to all this is added insensitivity, greed, impunity, lack of environmental education, bad practices, and unwise decision-making, then there are plenty of reasons to raise awareness”, the delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), Aliocha Arias, said.
The scientific program is completed with topics on conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, environmental education for the conservation of biodiversity in the current Cuban school, Law and Order in the conservation of the environment, the local value of forests, and importance of trees outside the forest, in addition to urban forestry.
Among the most important projects that Citma has in the region in coordination with scientific institutions such as the University of Camagüey, is the Butterfly Farm in the Botanical Park, located on the outskirts of this city, an international collaboration project formulated for the sustainable management of species daytime.
The work is thought to be completed in 2022, and it has been financed with 50,000 dollars, as part of the Small Donations Program and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
