Diaz-Canel confirms progress of social programs in Havana

Havana, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Pesident Miguel Diaz-Canel verified the progress of the National Cochlear Implant and Neurodevelopment Program, in the context of his fourth governmental visit to Havana on Thursday.

During his visit to the Pedro Borras Astorga-Marfan Children’s Hospital, the president spoke with patients who have benefited from the initiative, which has so far provided 536 implants to 525 people nationwide, including nine bilateral implants. Diaz-Canel also visited the University of Havana (UH), where he attended the closing ceremony of a Course on the Introduction to the Study of International Business Law, at the Aula Magna, the Presidency reported on its official Twitter account.

For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero learned about Havana’s Tourism Development Plan until 2030 at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba in the this capital.

Havana has 79 hotels with a total capacity of 13,000 rooms.

Marrero affirmed that Cuba is betting on productive chains to take advantage of the strengths of all economic stockholders: that is what it is all about, to put these concepts into practice, seeking synergies to replace imports, he said.

According to the Presidency, during the day, First Vice President Salvador Valdes, as well as deputy prime ministers, ministers and other members of the Government, visited places of interest in Havana.
