According to the Chadian diplomat, the decision to deploy a regional force immediately to restore peace and stability in the DRC is essential, local media reported.

The East African sub-regional organization, of which the DRC became a member last week in this city, ordered a set of actions to support peace efforts in that vast country, which has been unstable for decades.

The former Chadian prime minister also reaffirmed the AU’s continued commitment (as guarantor) to the full implementation of the Framework Agreement on Peace, Security and Cooperation for the DRC and the region.
