Díaz-Canel urges to debate social problems in Cuba with people

Havana, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, urged today to debate problems that interest militants and society in general.

During the 4th Plenum of the highest leadership of the PCC, the also president of the Republic called to prioritize the discussion of issues related to production among the Party militants.

Díaz-Canel advocated sharing those debates with all workers even if they are not members of the political organization. He also urged to recognize the leading role of the collective leadership, to highlight the work of militants, young revolutionaries and members of the leadership structures at all levels.

In his opinion, the signs of affection shown by the population towards the leaders is an example of trust in the Party, the Revolution and the government.

Strategic issues for the present and future focus the attention of the IV Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba that is being held in this capital.

The event’s agenda includes the presentation and debate of the report on the work of the Political Bureau, the evaluation of the Cadre Policy Strategy for the period 2021-2026, and the analysis of the Program for the transformation of political-ideological work.

Likewise, the 105 members of the Central Committee in attendance analyze the popular consultation process of the Family Code and evaluate the implementation of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.

They also discuss the updating of the country’s Economic and Social Strategy, and review the anti-inflationary measures approved to deal with this problem that affects the purchasing power of the population.
