Russia destroys weapons cache sent in by US and the EU

Moscow, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its Armed Forces destroyed a warehouse storing a large shipment of weapons and ammunition supplied by the United States and European countries to the Ukrainian troops.

According to the report by the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, the air strike against the warehouse, in the territory of the Zaporozhye aluminum plant, was conducted using long-range, high-precision, sea-based Kalibr missiles.

He also stated that in the last 24 hours, air defense systems shot down 18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas over 11 settlements, including two Bayraktar-TB2 over Kolesnikovka and Krasny Lyman, about 30 kilometers from Lugansk.

Konashenkov also reported that the tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit 59 Ukrainian military targets overnight.

“Among them: 50 concentration areas of Ukrainian military manpower and equipment, four warehouses storing weapons and ammunition in the settlements of Chervonoe, Dolgenkie, Pashkovo and Veseloe, as well as a Buk-M1 air defense system in the Slavyansk region”, as per the Major General.

He went on to add that more than 120 nationalists were killed and 35 armored vehicles and cars were destroyed as a result of the strikes.

Konashenkov explained that the missile troops and artillery of the Ground Forces hit 573 Ukrainian targets, including 432 concentration areas of enemy manpower and war matériel.

67 artillery positions, two batteries of multiple launch rocket systems and seven ammunition depots were also destroyed.
