The general secretary of the CTC (Cuban Workers Union) in Ciego de Avila, Niurka Ferrer, pointed out that all municipalities are carrying out volunteer work in vital activities for local economic development, in addition to decorating workplaces and schools with propaganda allegorical to the World Proletariat Day.
She specified that in spite of the limitations of resources and the intensified blockade of the U.S. government against Cuba, the May 1st parade will be a tribune for the Cuban people to reaffirm their support to Socialism and the Cuban Revolution.
On the other hand, the General Secretary of the Transport Union in the province, Dallanis Carmenate, pointed out that this year more than 1,500 non-state workers affiliated to this union will march in their own vehicles, such as cars, bicycle cabs and motors.
