Ethiopian prime minister requests support for victims of violence

Addis Ababa, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed asked humanitarian entities, civil organizations and the population in general, to increase the efforts made so far to support the victims of violence.

On his Twitter account, Ahmed urged to protect the rights of those affected by criminal acts, as of the condemnation to the perpetrators of legislative violations and the persons or organizations that subvert the constitutional order.

He also commented that condemning the perpetrators of vandalism and terrorist actions, in addition to helping all victims, is the best way to build stability and peace in the nation, instead of reacting moved by revenge.

We should not try to aggravate the problem by taking reprisals for evil acts by executing others. None of us will benefit from the problems in Ethiopia, but from the peace we are capable of establishing, the premier said.

Let’s work to bring people in society closer, rather than highlighting their differences, because the world we share requires us to live in harmony to save and prosper, he said.
