The Wafa news agency cited medical sources stating that Yahya Ali Adwan, 27, was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest during the repression of Israeli soldiers at demonstrations in the city of Qalquilia.

Israeli authorities reported that a security guard was killed around midnight when Palestinian militiamen opened fire on a checkpoint at the entrance to Ariel.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.

After the Ariel raid, the Army announced a hunt against those responsible and mobilized several elite units such as paratroopers and the Battalion 636.
