The worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen is a reality that we must urgently address, said Gressly, quoted by a statement from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
More than 23 million people, or nearly three-quarters of Yemen’s population, are now in need of assistance, three million more than last year, he stressed.
OCHA expects a record 19 million people to need food assistance in the second half of the year.
I urge all donors to disburse the pledged funds quickly, Gressly said.
