The journalist and visual artist alluded to the selfless and supportive example of the internationalist and collaboration missions from the Cuban Revolution, despite the “criminal, inhumane blockade that kills people”, which has been imposed by the US Government for more than 60 years.

Cubans have achieved a feat in confronting Covid-19 with the creation of five vaccines, amid the tightening of that economic, commercial and financial embargo that was not relaxed during the worst stages of the pandemic, the director of Correo del Alba magazine said.

She noted the remarkable levels of development in all areas that Cuba could reach if those obstacles of the world’s greatest power did not exist and would continue to share with the needy in the world.

Gonzalez condemned the exclusion of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua from the preparations for the Summit of the Americas, which will take place in June in the US, of Los Angeles, and the demonization of Russia by the West.

Regarding Rssia’s conflict with Ukraine, stirred up by NATO and the United States, she criticized the onslaught against Russian culture, art, literature and sports, in an attempt to discredit and deny its undeniable progress.

“What does NATO have to do with Latin America?” she wondered in statements to Prensa Latina’s question about the attempts to involve Colombia with NATO and further sharpen its status as a spearhead against Venezuela on the continent. Alongside historians Adys Cupull and Froilan Gonzalez, the Venezuelan diplomat met with students and professors of Western University recalled the nightmare she suffered when, as ambassador to Bolivia, she was attacked and humiliated by the coup mongers in 2019. jg/aph/mem/mca
