The event, a tribute to the Brazilian pedagogue and philosopher, gathers specialists to share their experiences on popular education in Latin America and its current trends.
The meeting takes place in person in several communities of the territory and in the social networks Whatsapp and Todus from where the thematic spaces of learning, anecdotes, expectations and creation of art in times of Covid-19 are articulated.
The space, which has been held every two years in Cienfuegos for 24 years, will have a section to discuss inclusive education, heritage, identity and the culture of peace.
Considered one of the greatest pedagogues in Latin America for his dedication to the instruction of the masses, Freire (1921-1997) left his perpetual wisdom in several texts such as Education as the Practice of Freedom (1967) and Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1970).
