The exhibition of suppliers held at the Palma Real Hotel, as part of the event, was an important showcase on the road to import substitution, which is required not only to improve the efficiency of the Cuban tourist product, but also to achieve productive linkages with other branches of the economy.

The proposals of the small private company Diamante Negro, which with only four months of creation (December 2021) and 15 workers, aspires to insert itself in the new construction projects of the leisure industry with its furniture and objects made of marble.

We are open to contracts and business, Rolando Valdés, a partner of this institution, told Prensa Latina, and he placed great value on the possibility of reaching FITCuba 2022 and exhibiting the decorative figures, washbasins, shelves, tables and other types of furniture resulting from the extraction and processing of black marble.

This is the center of Diamante Negro’s activity, whose star product is the stone from the only quarry of that color in the country, located in Pinar del Río (west), in the municipality of Viñales.

We work with marble in all its shapes and sizes, as well as other colors (cream, red and gray) in smaller quantities, Valdés said, adding that although they have not yet signed contracts with any unit linked to tourism, they do have experience with products made for the Food Industry and the Ministry of Public Health.
