New alliances for developing health tourism in Cuba

Varadero, Cuba, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The company Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A. (CSMC,S.A.) signed contracts with the Cubanacan group and the Meliá hotel chain to strengthen the alliance between tourism and health.

The agreements, reached within the framework of the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2022, will allow visitors access to comprehensive services that facilitate a pleasant experience during their vacations on the island.

Dr. Yamila de Armas, president of the CSMC, S.A., highlighted the inclusion in the agreement with Cubanacan of a program called Vacation Hemodialysis, an opportunity offered by the largest of the Antilles to guarantee the continuity of its treatments to people with chronic kidney failure.

In fact, in Varadero, where FITCuba 2022 is taking place and the main tourist destination in the country, it has a Hemodialysis Center in which patients receive specialized care, with privacy and tranquility, in an environment with the required guarantees, in correspondence with the securities of the CSMC, S.A., said de Armas.

The president of Cubanacan, Jorge Alberto García, referred to how his group will use all its infrastructure and logistics to promote a service that distinguishes Cuba as a destination and what better way than to offer health, one of the strengths of the Caribbean country.

In addition, the CSMC,S.A. signed another contract with Meliá Hotels Cuba that gives continuity to an alliance already established with the Spanish chain now with the purpose of offering health tourism packages.

Gonzalo Echavarría, representative of Meliá on the island, underlined the importance of this modality today and pointed out that if there is a nation with the conditions to develop it, it is Cuba, above all because of the safety and professionalism of its doctors.

For today it is expected that the president of the CSMC, S.A. exposes at FITCuba the opportunities and possible new alliances for health tourism offers on the island and will also convene the First International Fair of Medical Tourism and Well-being scheduled from October 17 to 20, 2022 in Havana.
