The groups Comunidad Creativa, Estudio Teatral Macuba and Teatro de la Luna, in that order, will go up on stages to defend these plays.
The event includes the participation of theater artists from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Dominican Republic and Cuba, and will be held in several Havana venues until May 15.
Under the motto “Scene and Challenge,” the event, which also has actions planned in other provinces, proposes a program full of theatrical performances, workshops, keynote speeches and artistic dismantling.
Among the highlights of the event is the awarding ceremony of El Gallo de La Habana 2022 prize, by Casa de las Americas. This prize recognizes the theater company, prominent figure, publication or the scenic event that contributes to theater in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Mayo Teatral festival includes the Bertolt Brecht Cultural Center, the Marti Theater, the Adolfo Llaurado hall and the Hubert de Blanck hall-theater, among other venues.
