Lazo described the work being carried out at the hotel as “heroic, human and solidarity work at the height of what needs to be done”.
He greeted the colleagues who are looking for bodies in the rubble in the basement of the hotel, to whom he indicated to “work hard and protect themselves”.
He said that the families waiting for an answer are infinitely grateful when they are informed about their relatives, “and for that reason we must search until the end”, he added.
The tour was also attended by the secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Havana, Luis Antonio Torres, the governor of the province, Reynaldo Garcia, and other party and government officials from the Cuban capital.
