The time has come to the EU (…) to write a new history for itself, the president said, who warned that the military conflict in Ukraine occurs in the center of the continent before the entire world and is a warming for the region.
Erdogan talked on the need to promote solidarity and cooperation with a visionary and courageous perspective, according to the national press.
He stressed his country´s importance for the EU and the region by saying that the negative effects of the Ukrainian conflict confirm Turkey´s strategic potential in several spheres.
Erdogan also repeated his determination to continue the process of full membership to the EU bloc.
Negotiations on this issue began in 2005 but are currently at a standstill due to questions from the integrationist mechanism to Ankara’s executive.
